About the Artist

I grew up in a small town in Southwest Virginia in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains and after graduating college I took my restless, creative spirit to New York City and California for pursuits in theatre and film before settling in the Charlotte, NC area. Once the paintbrush landed in my hand I found a new passion. I find beauty in painting landscapes and subjects that resonate with my heritage that surrounds the mountain region and also reflections from travel and discovery. My vision with my art is to reflect an interdependence of history and culture intertwined. Working in oil and acrylics, I enjoy exploring color, style and developing techniques to express ideas that flow onto the canvas. I am a member of Queen City Art/Charlotte Art League, Mooresville Arts and The Carolina Artists and regularly displays my art at local shows and events around North Carolina and South West Virginia.
